Useful Links

The following personalities and their respective sites/channels are recommended for aspiring audiophiles who thirst for knowledge. I would continue to seek out more quality sites that you can rely on. Your recommendations will also be welcome for me to share with the community as I see fit.

The analog GURU

Michael Fremer

The Tracking Angle

@trackingangle929

website www.trackingAngle.com.

Michael Fremer is the founder of TrackingAngle which has a YouTube channel. He was also the founder of AnalogPlanet.com gaining 52,000 subscribers. He was also the senior contributing editor at Stereophile magazine and is a senior editor at The Absolute Sound. Michael is no stranger to the audiophile community and the industry. He is a strong advocate for analog systems and recordings and in my reckoning will remain part of his legacy. He frequents important high-end audio exhibitions internationally and videos these events, posting them on his YouTube channel. He has a useful video of his 100 records recommendations for jazz and eclectic music and promises classical music at some point in time. I believe he has a CD tutorial for setting up a turntable system. This is a great site to follow notwithstanding his humor and stories that will enrich and entertain most analog die-hards.

The Digital German

Hans Beekhuyzen

@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel

Hans is steep in digital audio and maintains three classes of reference systems for his audio reviews. Perhaps his strong offering would be his audio hygiene series on YouTube, which would benefit all audiophiles where he talks about system maintenance and tweaks. He is also technically inclined and is comfortable discussing power supplies and digital circuits.

The audio Streamer

John Darko

@DarkoAudio

https://darko.audio/

John is a popular YouTube presenter who has a large following. Presently living in Berlin, he is well-heeled on things digital especially music streaming. His series on music streaming audio especially for beginners would be valuable for those venturing into this new medium. He has previously contributed to many other media, today he reviews audio products and software for Darko Audio.

A British Audiophile

@abritishaudiophile7314

Tarun is his name, and “A British Audiophile” is his game. Newbies should follow the link for the “Beginners Guide to Hi-Fi” series on his YouTube channel. Tarun is a Physics teacher by profession with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He also reviews equipment and audiophile-quality recordings. This good old chap is however partial to British audio.

The loudspeaker tweaker

GR Research

https://gr-research.com/

Danny Richie founded GR-Research in 1995 dealing with high-quality audio. Today they are focused on loudspeaker design and offer high-quality loudspeaker kits. They retail crossovers, parts, and loudspeaker components. They have their proprietary line of drivers that are used in their designs and offers custom products and upgrades for your loudspeakers. Their website is very comprehensive, a one-stop shop for everything loudspeakers. Follow their YouTube channel/videos where you will learn everything about loudspeaker design philosophies, parts, and crossover designs.

ASK PAUL

Paul McGowan
PS Audio
https://www.psaudio.com

PS Audio founder and CEO, Paul McGowan has an interesting website that not only showcases their products but also engages with the community in 2 different ways. The first is their ‘Ask Paul” segment where he will answer one question a day and share a “live” and unrehearsed short video presentation on the topic. Readers can submit their questions on his website. He covers most subjects on how stuff works, and how to optimize a system, including tubes, transistors, and even audio streaming.  The second offering is “Paul's Posts” where he covers subjects ranging from tubes to transistors, streaming, vinyl, digital and loudspeakers, and everything else under the sun. I find his videos on “Ask Paul”, his blog “Paul’s Post” and his “Ohm's Law Podcast” informative and would recommend them for personal enrichment. I kind of enjoy his posts and believe some may learn a thing or two with some practical takeaways. However, Paul as a manufacturer may appear biased at times which is understandable. He also shares a music playlist online "Paul’s Picks" for those looking for reference recordings to enjoy or use for evaluation purposes.
